I moved to Bethesda in October 2005. I'm a bit baffled by the fact that Zagat's highest rated restaurants in the area are the likes of Jaleo and Ruths Chris Steakhouse. I've spent a ton of time online trying to get a better sense of the area, and figuring out what would be fun to do and where I'd like to eat and where I should take yoga classes or get a massage. In NY, between craigslist and Citysearch and New York Metro and MUG and TONY, and all of them with user reviews and best of's, it's not hard to find what you're looking for. But not so in Bethesda. Sure there's D.C. Foodies and TasteDC and Washingtonian Online and washingtonpost.com, but nothing that makes you feel like you can find what you're looking for.
So that's what I'm trying to create, and what I'm still looking for. If you can tell me about anyplace cool to go, or anything great to see, or where to shop or who should cut my hair, please do. In the meantime, I’ll let you know what I find on my own.
